Alison Tate

Alison trained in Leeds at a leading commercial firm where she qualified in 1998 into the Commercial Litigation department.
Alison took the opportunity in July 1999 to move to Dickinson Dees to join their expanding Commercial Disputes Group. After gaining a wide range of practical experience dealing with commercial issues including claims for wrongful termination or breach of contract, negligence, shareholder and partnership disputes, judicial review and insolvency advice, Alison moved to tbi in April 2005 to head up the Commercial Disputes Team.

Alison is keen to ensure that the client receives practical and commercial advice no matter what the issue. She often uses her experience of alternative dispute resolution to find cost effective and pragmatic settlements to potential or long running disputes. However, she also recognises that, on some occasions, tenacity, strength and determination are required in order to succeed with inevitable litigation.

Alison is a sports fan and will watch almost anything Sky Sports has to offer. She is a season ticket holder at Hartlepool United and has recently taken up golf. Alison is a keen swimmer and enjoys working away the stresses of the day in the gym.

Debra Riley

Debra studied law at the University of Leeds and went on to study the LPC at the College of Law in York. After completing her LPC, Debra was awarded the R.T Richardson Prize 2004 by the Tees Valley Law Society and was nominated by the College of Law for the National Law Society Award as a result of her outstanding examination results.

After successfully completing her training contract with tbi, Debra qualified into the Commercial Disputes Team in September 2006, specialising in debt recovery, insolvency and breach of contract claims.

Debra enjoys travelling, having spent a number of months travelling around Europe and USA. In her spare time she enjoys socialising, cricket and reading, with a particular interest in forensic science, which she is confident will come in handy at some stage of her legal career!

Kenton Bazeley

Kenton, originally from Northamptonshire, studied his Legal Practice Course at York College Of Law, and has remained “up north” ever since. Kenton has worked in Leeds, York and Wakefield before moving further north to Join TBI at the end of 2008.

Kenton has worked at both national, regional and high street firms and along the way has gained a vast knowledge of dealing with clients in a variety of predicaments. He trained in York qualifying in November 2002 to undertake commercial disputes work/insolvency.

Kenton has a wide experience of dealing with all areas of commercial disputes advising clients on contractual disputes, company/partnership disputes and land/property disputes. Kenton, however, has found himself advising increasingly upon Insolvency issues and is able to offer his experience to this field.   

Kenton is enjoying traveling but is now enjoying becoming initiated into the local area. He enjoys most sports, football, squash and learning how to play golf. He keeps fit through his main sport, Karate, which has practiced to black belt standard for over 20 years.
