TBI Solicitors has used its annual golf day to raise £600 for Hartlepool-based charity RESPECT – in return for caricatures of the golfers.
TBI, one of the North East's leading law firms, invited cartoonist Keith Robson to capture competitors during the event held at The Wynyard Club. Golfers were asked to contribute £5 to the charity in return for a caricature, with TBI match-funding all money raised.
Keith, who works closely with Hartlepool charity RESPECT, is best known for his long-time contributions to Beano and Dandy. More recently, he has helped youngsters in Hartlepool develop their talents and convey their own messages by creating ‘Monkey Crew', a comic for young people, to help them understand the everyday issues they may face.
John Hall, Managing Partner of TBI Solicitors, said: “The annual TBI golf day is always an enjoyable occasion, but this year Keith's caricatures have brought an added element of entertainment. He has not only helped raise funds for RESPECT, but has made the day one to remember, giving competitors a unique memento of the day to take away with them.”
Keith added: “TBI provided a unique opportunity to raise funds for RESPECT, a charity which provides valuable support for many youngsters in Hartlepool. Everyone enjoyed both the golf and having their caricatures drawn and the combination of their generous donations and TBI's match funding will make a genuine difference to the charity.”
The winning team of golfers was Nick Mounter of Glamal Engineering, Russ Green of Hartlepool United FC, Chris Mounter from The Wynyard Club and Steven Horsley of TBI Solicitors.
