TBI Solicitors, the Tees Valley's leading law firm, has brought together a team of specialists to help with housing, debt and social welfare issues in a one-stop-shop.
Stewart Haywood and Karen Parkinson, and a supporting team, are working together to respond with advice and assistance as the recession has driven more people into debt, housing arrears and associated problems.
TBI is responding to increased need triggered by the economic downturn. Its specialists can provide advice on dealing with debt, rent arrears and disputes with landlords. They can also assist with welfare assessments, and if necessary prepare a case for anyone who is having problems claiming, or feels they are not getting their full welfare entitlement.
Stewart Haywood commented: “Many people are currently facing debt because of the current economic climate. That debt can lead to other problems such as rent arrears. During this recession, creditors are much more aggressive in chasing any debts, exacerbating financial pressures very quickly.
“It's vital that each case is dealt with on an individual basis, to formulate the correct strategy to tackle a person's particular problems. At the end of the process, we want to ensure that people are in a better position financially, and where necessary that they can stay in their homes.”
