Pauline swaps probate for mountain peaks in charity trek
Tees Valley based legal executive Pauline Coates is making final preparations for a charity trek that will see her tackle the world's largest freestanding mountain next month – and raise in excess of £3,000 in aid of Butterwick House Children's Hospice in Stockton.
Standing almost 6,000 metres tall, Mount Kilimanjaro presents the biggest challenge so far to Pauline – who has planned to climb Kilimanjaro for some time and chosen to complete the trek alongside fellow fundraisers from around the UK.
Pauline said: "This trek is a great opportunity for me to give something back to my local area, which is why I'm taking time out from my work in probate and trusts at tbi for the mountainous challenge. It will certainly make a change from my day-to-day role at the firm, where I deal with the administration of trusts and income tax. I have to say that with all the time off and preparation involved, I couldn't have done it without the help and support of all my colleagues, friends and family so that has been much appreciated.
"Taking six days to climb up and two days to descend, I'm already excited for the summit night on Wednesday 10th October. With more money still to raise, I have my fingers crossed that all the training pays off – and that I exceed the £3,000 target!"
John Hall, Managing Partner at tbi, added: "We have a really dynamic team here who are not only dedicated employees but also committed to putting something back in the local community and Pauline is a fantastic example of this.
"We feel confident that Pauline will exceed her target as she embarks on this once-in-a-lifetime experience and look forward to celebrating her success with her, on her return."
