Martin qualified in 1978 after studying law at Newcastle-upon-Tyne University and the College of Law, Chester. He practised in Middlesbrough until 1985 when he joined tbi. He has been based in Stockton since 1998.

He deals with all aspects of probate work and has a special interest in using wills and trusts to mitigate tax.

He also deals with disputes over wills and estates, and over houses (particularly where jointly owned).
