Mr B was recently awarded £140,000 after being diagnosed with mesothelioma.

He had worked as a joiner in Newcastle for a number of years. His main duties were renewing asbestos covered walls and ceilings. Mr B renewed the walls by cutting new sheets of asbestos with a handsaw and mixing asbestos to insulate exposed pipes. A lot of dust was created during this process and no protection was provided by his employers.

He was a very fit and active up until recently when he began to suffer flu like symptoms, his condition didn't improve and he was referred to hospital where he was diagnosed as suffering from Mesothelioma.

We recently won £55,000 for the estate of the late Mr P.
He had worked for a number of local companies in the North East including British Steel and Grey's Shipyard. His children contacted us after the inquest into his death revealed he died as a result of Mesothelioma.

We were able to recover damages for the pain and suffering endured by him prior to his death. The amount the estate received was based on his age and length of time he had suffered.

In addition the estate was also able to recover the cost of the funeral.
