Asbestos and asbestos related injuries such as pleural thickening, mesothelioma or asbestosis can have a detrimental effect on your health. Due to the legacy of shipbuilding and heavy industry in the North East a high proportion of the cases reported each year are from our area.

In a landmark decision given by the Court of Appeal in January 2006, the Court allowed an appeal by the Defendants and refused the Claimants to claim damages for pleural plaques as it did not give rise to an injury. It is probable that this issue will now go to the House of Lords. So watch this space!
