John B. Hall – Head of Department
John is one of the UK's leading Clinical Negligence Solicitors.
He qualified in 1976 and has dealt with PI and Clinical Negligence Claims for over 30 years, specialising in high value cases.
John is a member of AvMA, APIL and the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.
As Managing Partner of tbi, John has a unique insight and influence on the firms' approach to client care. Leading from the front, John insists that clients' interest will always come first, even if his beloved Sunderland FC don't always follow suit.
Mark H. Ellis – Partner
Mark is one of tbi's most experienced solicitors, bringing more than 20 years experience in handling claims, including actions against the MOD and representing many victims of industrial related injuries including asbestos, VWF and Deafness.
Mark is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and APIL.
As a partner of tbi, Mark takes pride in his position and as in his very active interests outside of work, seeks to explore every opportunity to get the desired result.
Mark is a black belt in karate and regularly travels the globe, having taken on and beaten Mount Kilimanjaro, he has recently trekked to Peru and is now looking for an even greater challenge.
Steven Horsley – Partner
Steven graduated from Keele University and then completing his LPC at the College of Law in York, qualifying as a solicitor in 1996.
He specialises in Personal Injury Litigation and is a member of APIL.
Steven has experience in dealing with a large variety of claims including employers and public liability, RTA cases, claims against the Ministry of Defence and accidents abroad.
Tim J. Wilsdon – Partner
Tim qualified as a solicitor in 1978 after graduating from Leicester University.
Since joining tbi as a Partner, he has specialised in Personal Injury Claims at the firm's Stockton office.
Tim is a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel and deals with RTA, Accidents at Work, Slips and Trips, Clinical Negligence, Asbestos related claims and other Industrial Disease Claims.
Sylvia Taylor - Solicitor
Sylvia qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has worked in the tbi Personal Injury Department since 1995.
Able to deal with all aspects of personal injury work, Sylvia specialises in clinical and dental negligence claims since the firm was awarded the franchise by the Legal Services Commission.
Sylvia enjoys travelling, New York being a favourite destination for both cultural and shopping purposes.
Helen Elstob - Solicitor
Helen qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2004 and as a Solicitor in 2007.
She specialises in Personal Injury and deals with accidents at work, occupier's liability, tripping/slipping claims and road traffic accidents.
Helen also deals with industrial disease claims including asbestos related injuries, VWF and deafness, and has a particular interest in work related upper limb disorders (WRULD) and repetitive strain injuries (RSI).
Kay Ditcham – Legal Executive
Kay qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2002 and has worked for tbi for 11 years, 4 years of which were spent working for John Hall as his personal assistant.
She has a varied case load including road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping claims and industrial disease claims.
Kay is interesting in keep fit and enjoys regular trips to the gym.
Adrienne Harris - Paralegal
Following a major change in career direction, Adrienne has worked as a paralegal for over 9 years joining tbi from a rival local firm in 2004.
She specialises in tripping claims, RTA cases and accidents at work. Adrienne also provides research and administrative assistance to the other members of the Personal Injury team.
Having been a professional dancer in her former life, for many years Adrienne choreographed shows for the local Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Associations. Now retired from dancing, she tries to keep fit with aerobics, cycling and walking.
Nathalie Dixon - Paralegal
Nathalie graduated from Northumbria University with an LLB (Hons) Exempting degree in 2006 having also completed the Legal Practice Course as part of the four year programme.
She specialises in tripping claims, RTA cases and accidents at work. Nathalie also provides research and administrative assistance to the other members of the Personal Injury team.
Nathalie is a keen sports person who plays netball for the All Blacks Netball team in Hartlepool and enjoys keeping fit by attending the gym, circuit training and running.
