  • Posted

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in seven categories for 2016’s Northern Law Awards.

The Disputes Team based in our Commercial office at Wynyard are on the list again after the success of 2015’s win. The team is headed by Partner, Alison Leith who was also the winner of Lawyer of the Year Award at 2015’s inaugural event.

Other nominations include Large Law Firm of the Year, Family Law Team of the Year and the Pro Bono & Community Initiative Award.

Our Marketing Team has been successful in being put forward for the Practice Management Award. This further highlights the work the new team have achieved in the last ten months. They have also won the Digital & Social Media Award in the Teesside heat of the North East Business Awards which has guaranteed them a place in the overall North East finals being held at Hardwick Hall later this month.

Helen Lyne, Solicitor in the Commercial Disputes Team at Wynyard has been picked to fly the flag for nominee as rising Star of the Year. Helen has had a fantastic year to date as she was also chosen to be the youngest ever President of the Tees Valley Law Society. She has been active in raising the society’s profile. She hosted the Annual Dinner recently and the night had one of its best successes to date not least by raising over £4,000 which was donated to the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.

The news of the shortlisted categories came through to us on what couldn’t have been a more appropriate day.. Friday 1st April. This was the day the whole firm was celebrating a very special occasion. It was the 40th anniversary of our Managing Partner, John Hall. To receive the news that John was nominated and shortlisted for Lawyer of the Year really was the icing on the cake.

We are looking forward now to the interview stages which will culminate in the actual awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newcastle  on the evening of 23rd June.
