Annaliese Barber who has worked for the firm since 1996 has become a full member of STEP (Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners), the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning.

Annaliese helps families plan for their futures, from drafting a will  to advising on issues concerning international families, protection of the vulnerable, family businesses and philanthropic giving.  Annaliese is also a qualified notary public which means she is allowed to authenticate and certify documents for use outside of the UK.

She was born and bred in Stockton where she still resides and obtained her law degree at the Newcastle University.  All of her working life has been spent on Teesside where she has a strong connection with the local community. She shares her time working from the firm’s Hartlepool and Wynyard offices and is the only full member of STEP in both these locations.  She is also a trustee of Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool and a Dementia Champion.

Carolyn Tilly, partner and head of the firm’s private client department, comments:

“Becoming a full member of STEP is testament to Annaliese’s hard work and commitment to her clients and to Tilly Bailey & Irvine.  She is only one of a very few practitioners in the North East who have the STEP qualification and can give clients confidence in her knowledge and expertise.”
