I am the Co-Founder and Managing Director.

How Did The Business Start?

Myself and my business partner, Matthew have been friends since we were in nursery together. Matthew went off to become a dentist and I studied Economics. We got chatting one day where Matthew expressed how difficult it was to sell whitening because the options available were too expensive. So, we decided to develop our own cost-effective whitening strips using the best ingredients we could find and the rest, they say, is history.

What Are The Biggest Challenges To Your Business?

The business seems to have really taken off in the past year which is great, but it’s important that we don’t overtrade and get ahead of ourselves.

What Are Your Biggest Achievements In The Business?

Our charity, 'The Brush for a Brush' campaign, is one of our proudest aspects of WhiteWash. For every product that is bought, we donate a toothbrush to a child in need and have donated almost 500,000+ since we set it up, which is amazing. It’s also great to see our products sold in over 30 countries, used by celebrities and royals and now one of our ranges is in Boots!

What Did You Want To Be When You Were At School?

I’ve always wanted to have my own business so I guess I did well with that!

What Was Your First Job?

I was a porter at the Tall Trees Hotel.

What Job Would You Like To Have Other Than Your Own & Why?

I’m really into my music so it would have to be a musician.

What Do You Love Most About Working In The North East?

Without a doubt, the people. The North East just has a certain charm about it.

What Do You Love Most About Living In The North East?

It’s got to be the parmo – ha!

What Do You Do In Your Down Time Away From The Office?

I really enjoy travelling and going to festivals, eating good food and playing my guitar.

What’s Your Number One Piece Of Advice For Anyone In Business Or Wanting To Start Up?

To think carefully about your marketing and how you are going to sell – it’s the life blood of any business.
