“I was immediately attracted by the role here,” he said. “I knew the firm well; I’d dealt with their commercial law team frequently over the years and knew some of the partners already. “I was delighted that the firm, with 180 years of history, was keen to get me onboard. I jumped at the chance to talk to them and was delighted to be offered the position. “I believe I have a lot to give and I’m delighted to make a fresh start. I’m now able to focus on my legal work, which is what I love to do.”
After working on Teesside for 20 years, Jonathan already had a client base in the region. “I’d worked hard to maintain my Teesside client base during my time on Tyneside,” he said. “And I’m confident they will benefit from representation by a larger, more diverse legal practice based nearer to them.”
A former chair of the Stockton Business Forum and governor of University Hospital of North Tees, Jonathan’s spare time is taken up supporting his elder son’s ambitions in the performing arts and coaching his younger son’s football team. “I became an FA qualified coach to take on the role, so I’m just waiting for Steve Gibson’s call!”.
