Experience and Expertise:

I deal with all aspects of investment property, including sales and purchases by way of conditional contracts, options and promotion agreements. I've worked on numerous high value, high profile, complex transactions such as the redevelopment of the Wembley Stadium and the purchase of the Millennium Dome.

I've had considerable experience of dealing with development property work, from site assembly through to practical completion and disposal, including dealing with, planning matters, development agreements, pre lets, warranties and overage agreements.

I've dealt with a wide variety of project work, including student accommodation projects for clients such as SOAS and the London Institute, the redevelopment of the Almeida sorting office for Royal Mail and the redevelopment of the Dewsbury Rams Rugby League Stadium and the site adjacent to it.

I have a particular interest in agricultural property work and come from a farming family. I have full working knowledge of all farming matters and act for a number of local land owners and farmers providing advice on a number of areas including, renewable energy agreements, development opportunities and strategic business advice.

I've also had a great deal of experience in acting for end users and occupiers acquiring leasehold and freehold premises to meet their site specific needs and have acted for the likes of Caterpillar, HMV, Travelodge and BUPA in the past.

I regularly act for institutional funders in relation to property transactions and have prepared and submitted tenders which have led to Tilly Bailey & Irvine being successfully appointed to the panel for both Yorkshire Bank and Santander.

Career Highlights:

I've acted on a number of high profile projects such as the redevelopment of the Wembley Stadium, the acquisition of the Millennium Dome, and the purchase of Morgan Motor Company premises in Malvern.

I also acted for Professor Gunther Von Hagens when he first introduced the Body World's Exhibition to the UK.

I've had sole responsibility for all property aspects in relation to the transfer of the Kingsmead Estate, Hackney from Hackney Borough Council to a newly formed Housing Association as part of a £43 million Estate Renewal Challenge Fund regeneration scheme.

I've also been part of the team who acted on the acquisition of the Alliance Portfolio for an American Investment Fund. The portfolio was valued at £350 million in 2004 and the acquisition was agreed and completed in less than 6 weeks and was put forward for real estate deal of the year.

Another highlight was when I acted for the West Hartlepool Amateur Quoits Club in opposing the compulsory purchase of their club and negotiating a substantial sum in compensation which allowed them to relocate to new premises which were fully fitted to their specific requirements.

I've written articles on renewable energy and given a presentation to local land owners and farmers on renewable energy opportunities.

I've also published articles in relation to dilapidation, the management of investment properties including negotiating lease terms and various aspects of lease management including rent review and break clauses.

Pro Bono:

I've undertaken pro bono work for a number of clients and just recently acted on behalf of Cargo Fleet Junior Football Team in relation to the grant of a lease of a number of football pitches and adjacent premises
