Jackie Blackwell is a Paralegal at Tilly Bailey & Irvine's Family department, specialising on matters surrounding domestic violence.
She started working at the firm's Stockton-on-Tees office when it was Bolsover Manning & Scott back in 1990, working as a Secretary in the Probate Department.
Jackie has no shortage of expertise in legal matters having since worked in Probate, Conveyancing, Personal Injury and Family law departments.
She now works in TBI's Family department and has done so since 2002, and is on hand to provide advice in relation to domestic violence and obtaining injunctions and occupation orders, forced marriage protection orders and honour-based violence. The latter (honour-based) also covers divorce, private disputes over children and advice when parents face their children being taken into care.
Jackie has even dealt with cases of “revenge porn”, where she obtained an injunction to prevent a client's ex partner from disclosing private and intimate photos and videos - a relatively new case in the modern day.
Jackie holds drop-in legal surgeries regularly and provides advice on a free-of-charge basis for those clients who do not qualify for legal aid, and therefore would otherwise have no access to legal advice if they cannot afford a solicitor.
