Experience and Expertise:
I qualified in 1978 and have spent all my career advising clients about their personal and family affairs in both contentious and non-contentious cases. I use my broad experience to advise clients on their wills and to plan their financial and personal affairs generally, on strategies to mitigate the tax payable on death and dealing with complex estates. Other specialties are advising on the setting up and running of trusts for controlled gifting, for example to grandchildren, for the care of dependents after death and for the preservation of assets. Also the use of trusts of land for shared ownership of houses

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I cannot really recall. When very young probably an engine driver. My grandad used to drive steam engines on the railway – now that is a great job! Later probably a footballer or cricketer.
Why law as a career?
It was about being a practitioner and helping people
What one thing could you not live without?
A cup of coffee on a morning.
Hobbies and interests
Rambling – I am a member of Stockton Rambling Club and lead walks for them – 12 to 14 miles is my distance for day out.
